Liberate from Narrowness

Who could have foreseen that these minute specks of life (amoebae) could hold out against the gigantic onslaught of molten lava and earth-shaking upheaval?  That speck of chaitanya, or life-consciousness, won through, nevertheless. Undeterred by fire and dust, by swooping gale or swallowing f loods, the amoeba in process of time, by the sheer force of the life-principal it embodied, blossomed into goodness and strength of character, into art and music, into song and dance, into scholarship and sadhana (spiritual practice) and martyrdom, into sainthood and even Avatars of Godhead!

Dhyana Vahini, p. 23

Each person has a different conception of God and of goodness according to his upbringing and the state of purification of his impulses. All such conceptions are valid; when water is let into the fields, you will find sheets of different shapes—circular, rectangular, oval, and square, according to the shape of the fields. The fertility or the quantity of the crops harvested does not vary according to the geometrical correctness of the shapes. How far, how fast you have established attachment to the Lord that is the test.

Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol. 3, p. 30

Believe that God resides in all beings. Speak such words as would spread goodness, truth, and beauty. Do such acts as would promote the happiness and prosperity of all. Pray that all the worlds have peace. Expand yourselves; do not contract into your own tiny individuality, expand into universal love, unshaken equanimity, and ever-active virtue.  That is the path that will bring out the divinity in you to the fullest.

Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol. 8, p. 244

Divinity is fully immanent in everyone. It is patent for the eyes that can see clearly and deeply. Whoever denies this is only cheating himself of his reality. He cannot dismiss it by denial, either for himself or others. The conclusion, therefore, is inevitable that it is the duty of man to see in society the expression of divinity, and to use all his skill and effort to promote the welfare and prosperity of society. Men must cultivate this expansive feeling, this inclusive thinking, and this intuitive vision. Without these three, man is but an inert being. If he derides these three, he loses his title to be human.

Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol. 9, p. 55

For such individuals who have liberated themselves from the narrowness of individuality, the only task is the upliftment of humanity, the welfare of the world, and the showering of love. Even if they are quiet, the state of bliss in which they are will shower bliss on the world. Love is in all, love is of all, and love is all.
