The Loving Mother Sai
Swami often says, “My love is equal to the love of a thousand mothers.” Like a mother He is always with us even when we are having our food. Swami tells us that food is God. Do not waste food. He encourages us to develop good food habits so that we can grow up to be strong and healthy.
This brother [a fellow student] was very fortunate one day when Swami stood by him when he was having his breakfast. But this brother found it very difficult to eat all the idlis [steamed rice savory]. So when Swami came and stood by him, the brother did not know what to do. Swami looked at the brother’s plate and asked him why was he finding it difficult to eat.
The brother felt very shy. Swami had asked him such an uncomfortable question, that, too, in front of his sister! How she would later tease him about it! But Swami was so kind and loving. He showed the brother how he should hold his food and skillfully put it in his mouth. Then Swami made a joke about it that made everyone laugh including his sister. Swami stood beside the brother and encouraged him to eat all the idlis.
Really, Swami’s love is like that of a thousand mothers.
