You have come from God, you are a spark of His Glory. You are a wave on that ocean of Bliss. You will regain peace only when you merge in Him. Like a child who has lost its way, you can have joy only when you rejoin your mother.

Even if a big, brilliant diamond is found in a garbage heap it doesn’t lose its lustre or value. Just because a good variety of pumpkin is grown on a thorny fence, there will be no change in its taste or cooking quality. Even though the peahen’s egg is hatched under the warmth of the ordinary hen or fowl, the young peacock that emerges will not lose its beautiful plumage. So also, the splendor and effulgence of the selfless, stainless, eternal Soul will in no way be diminished although it is associated with the human body which is full of impurities.
